How it works?

Utilising Bluetooth Low Energy®  (BLE) enabled technology to monitor the health status of your employees is as simple as connecting third party BLE devices with the Personal Safety Monitoring System.

When combining the ambient and atmospheric data collected using the Personal Safety Monitors with the data from third party BLE devices, Universal Site Monitoring is able to analyse the information using predetermined parameters.  These predetermined parameters enable the Universal Data Interface smart alert and navigation system to alert and alarm Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) personnel of employees that show early signs of an infection, preventing contact and exposure with other employees.

The Personal Safety Monitoring System is able to detect:

  • Ambient and atmospheric data (including temperature and contaminants such as gasses that may impact worker health)
  • Location and tracking services (identifying slips, trips and falls, location in the environment and prior movements that may impact employee health)

Third party BLE devices, available to purchase, can be paired to our system to detect:

  • Ambient Temperature
  • Body Temperature
  • Heart Rate

Planned for future development or through BLE pairing:

  • Blood Oxygen Level
  • Blood Pressure
  • Extremity Skin Temperature

List of Compatible BLE Connected Devices:

  • Heart Rate Measurement
  • Generic Attribute Profile (GATT) supported only (recommended “POLAR OH1”)
  • Body Temperature Measurement
  • Intelligent body Temperature Tracker CBT15-I
  • Temperature Measurement
  • Blue2 Bluetooth Thermometer from Cooper Atkins
  • Panic Buttons
  • VALRT Panic button

What’s next?

Universal Site Monitoring is currently reviewing options to team-up with existing, new and emerging technology companies to ensure the most expedient solution is obtained for business and employees to access an early infection detection method.

The short-term solution identified is using third party devices connected via Bluetooth Low Energy to our Global Assets Monitor Mobile Apps in use by an employee on a smart phone (Android and iOS compatible). The data is then transmitted to the Universal Data Interface software for monitoring by OHS personnel.

Enabling worker safety is of utmost importance to Universal Site Monitoring, both the prevention and alerting of workplace incidents or fatalities.

We are currently working to further develop this technology, to combat the spread of the COVID-19 infections and other viruses within workplace environments.

, our first focus is  on the development of our GAM-i application for iOS devices to make this technology more readily available. We will also be working to develop monitors for core temperature measurement, respiratory rate (including identifying coughs and sneezing) and a fatigue monitor, to prepare for potential situations where these BLE devices are unavailable.
